I'M MAD BUT I'M OVER IT AND I'M AN OBAMA GIRL NOW
I was very angry at the way Hillary was treated by some members of the press. Why is it ok to say iron my shirt but not ok to say shine my shoes. Everyone should be treated with respect. Here's a candidate who received more of the popular vote and has 18 million people in her constituency. Why were they bugging her to quit? Why was the media so annoyed. I used to love Keith Olbermann but it will take me a while before I can stand being yelled at by him again.
I think this country needs to learn how to understand free speech. We can express our ideas but we shouldn't make fun of and try to witchify a person merely because they are running for office.
So anyway I was bitter and still may be. But I know that I want what is best for the country now.

Hillary was villified partly because she's a Clinton and many associate that with a shady past. But, part of it was her being a woman. I heard a man call into a radio show saying that a woman wouldn't be good for Middle Eastern foreign policy because they don't respect women and wouldn't listen to one. Well, the Middle Eastern world for the most part doesn't respect the United States. (minus a few countries such as Israel, etc) Iran's leader will respect Obama more than Clinton? He's insane and will continue to be insane no matter who our leader is.
I guess it's ok in the press to go after a woman like that, but not a black man. The press is so scared to be called racist that they have not done an honest critique of Obama and who he really is. (which I'm not sure yet actually).
I am so surprised that these two candidates (Obama vs. McCain) are the best we could come up with. Seriously?
We had peace and prosperity under the Clinton admin. We have a horrible deficit and are very close to a depression and have unbridled greed in this country that is criminal.
Bush is a recovering alcoholic who was a falling down drunk and Laura was going to leave him. Bush is the worst president in our time if not ever. Have people noticed that we have had deficits with every Republican president from Hoover to Reagan to Nixon to Bushes.
And Clinton is shady?
Who would want to be president or vp anymore? There is no privacy and one's whole life is up for grabs. The good poeple are behind the scenes.
I love it when people talk about Bush being a recovering alcoholic like it's something to be ashamed of when the very person who probably wrote that has voted [through their candidates] for more drug rehab programs for witlness, jobless, spineless addicts who keep sucking the system dry and have no discipline. Shameful. You people have VERY short memories on what a fraud Bill Clinton was. As for greed, you don't have to look at the White House for that. Look next door, on TV and in society in general. Greed is a personal choice, not public policy. As for "people needing more from the government" - puh-lease. I want less government for most of us. All these after school programs are baby sitting services for people who shouldn't have bred in the first place because they either can't afford them, they're too young or they don't know how to parent. Our schools can't teach any longer because they are holding areas for kids who don't have manners, can't shut up or can't leave other, innocent kids alone long enough to learn how to read. America is falling apart because we don't expect anyone to be accountable any longer - just how many more $$ our Congress can toss out to programs because it's "feel good" legislation that demonstrates no results. Let's get back to basics folks and away from this Marxist philosophy that is NOT what our forefathers set forth.
