What Happened to the Kinder, Gentler Nation?

Are you at your wit's end with everyone's attitude? I know I am.
People are very rude to each other and have forgotten three little words:
please, thank you.

I think part of the reason is that there is so much corruption out there and the country
is tired of it and frustrated too. The trial of the week is underway with Ken Lay. Pretty soon we will see Tom DeLay drag out his stories. And then Jack Abramoff will spill his guts and rat on all his people.

People in Washington are just on edge and nervous. There are too many secrets and too much bullying. That has the trickle-down effect across the country. Is intergrity back at the White House? Will the State of the Union be a boring speech or will it be filled with promise and hope. Not just for the very rich, but maybe for the little guy too.

Let's see if we can be happy again as a country.

Are you kidding? Both sides can't get along it would be bad for the image. The image of not caring about anyone.

I'm READY!
Having moved out of the area, I've noticed a darkening of everyone's moods. I can see it on the street and feel it on the Metro. It's much, much different than it used to be 10 years ago, 5 years ago. It just keeps getting worse.

President Bush said in his State of the Union that he wants a more compassionate nation. He means it too.

Stop being so nasty and it will trickle down.

You have to give to get. It just takes one person to start it moving in a kinder and more gentle way. Stop whining and do something.

The Republicans are finally saying that they want to reach out to the Democrats. Well I guess so. They can't seem to get along with each other.

Everyone is tense and should just chill. Life is too short for all this tension. We have real enemies so we should be nicer to each other.
